Welcome to the 10th anniversary of Hua Yuan Science and Technology Association (HYSTA). As we proudly gaze on what has been established and grown over the past 10 years we can easily say serving as the Presidents is an honor; to be able to give back to the community who have helped us grow professionally and personally. Without doubt, we have become who we are today through our association with the HYSTA community. Established in 1999 by funding visionaries to create a network for fledgling Chinese entrepreneurs, HYSTA has developed immensely and has integrated itself into the daily life of Silicon Valley.
Since our inception ten years ago, the world has become a much smaller place. Never has there been a time as important as now to be a part of the network that understands the opportunities, fosters US-China business relations and anticipates the future born from the today's economic crisis. HYSTA is Silicon Valley's solution to the current global economic challenges. We are a community with over 5000 strong individuals and almost 30 business alliances. Our ability to get information out has never been better with over 20 TV, Radio and News media partners with international coverage.
Over the past ten years, we have witnessed a global economic roller coaster, disasters both created by man and nature and an increasingly enlightened view of man's impact on the environment. The HYSTA community has endured and developed throughout these years planting new seeds to facilitate opportunities in new technologies, nurture future entrepreneurs and mentor the next generation of business leaders.
HYSTA's annual conference continues to host the most distinguished speakers in touch with today's economic hurdles with a sense of social responsibility. Leaders such as Al Gore lead the charge for change and have brought the message home: Your next door neighbor is now the entire planet. 'Green' companies are more common and clean technology holds an abundance of opportunity. The world is now fully grasping the importance and impact of these issues and HYSTA continues to be on the cutting edge and sows the ground for new venture opportunities in sustainable business practices/models.
The core of the HYSTA community is its volunteers. It is from their hard work and HYSTA's board and partners that have made the past decade of success possible. These efforts allowed HYSTA to thrive with verve and passion, make connections between people, impact the world for the better and become the solution for today's business issues. The list of intrepid entrepreneurs and business leaders who have been helped by HYSTA rapidly expands; a testament to the success we have lived.
Looking back in time ten years ago, we are amazed at how far we have grown. From the seeds planted in 1999, a whole community has surfaced. Roots that now reach deeper and farther, breathing life into an international network interlaced with mutual goals. We can only surmise over the next ten years while the global economic roller coaster will continue and our planet will continue to shrink; HYSTA will continue to survive, thrive and plant the seeds for the future of business beyond.
