Welcome to Hua Yuan Science and Technology Association (HYSTA).

HYSTA’s mission is to encourage and develop entrepreneurship among Chinese professionals in the Silicon Valley. From our humble beginnings as a network forum for entrepreneurs in 1999, HYSTA has evolved and grown to what it is today - one of the largest and most influential professional organizations bridging the Pacific to enable entrepreneurship, public discourse and encouraging positive actions between the United States and China.

I am honored to serve as the new president of HYSTA and excited by the challenge to increase support for the organization by continuing efforts to carry out its mission.

HYSTA’s core mission is threefold:

1. HYSTA is about Entrepreneurship.
Fostering entrepreneurship has always been in our genes. We have various programs facilitating entrepreneurs with mentoring, networking opportunities, training events, business trips and matching entrepreneurs with investors. We will continue to promote the entrepreneurial spirit within our members.

2. HYSTA is about cultivating the US-China relationship through technology.
Leveraging technological innovation and economic opportunity to foster the relationship between the two countries is core to our mission. HYSTA plays an important role in growing this relationship through events.

3. HYSTA is about fostering leadership.
In the past two years of my involvement in HYSTA, I have seen numerous individual volunteers transition into successful professionals. I am happy to say that HYSTA has matured into a home base for bright talents who are seeking mentorship and the necessary tools to succeed.

In 2013, not only will HYSTA continue to carry on its core mission but we additionally aim to expand our global presence and social impact. I am committed to continuing to promote entrepreneurship within the organization, increasing our efforts to grow the US-China relationship, and fostering our leadership program though our talented team of volunteers. I look forward to an exciting year and I am committed to working towards continued successes in the coming future.
