Panel 2: "Leadership Skills and Experience for the China Market"
China's shortage of business leaders is well known. But what's not known is the magnitude of the shortfall. McKinsey reports that by 2010, China will require 75,000 top-level executives with global experience. How many exist in China today? 5,000. This reflects an impending 15x shortage in the next 3 years, and a potential crisis.
So what does it take to be a leader in the China market? What similar, and different skills are required versus the US ? How can returnees, and non-Chinese entrepreneurs, executives and investors succeed in the market? Further, can a team of Chinese and US professionals be managed simultaneously? How should Chinese multi-national companies think about expanding globally? Is leadership culture-based, or universal? Our distinguished panelists will answer these haunting questions and share their real life experiences. The collective wisdom of our panelists has never been taught in any business schools, but should help you to build a more successful career and generate greater success in China or in Silicon Valley.
