“Innovation and Leadership 2006” 

Silicon Valley 's Premier Chinese Professional Organization Announces
its 2006 Annual Conference Expected to Draw 1,000

Santa Clara, Calif., Sept. 16 – HYSTA (Hua Yuan Science and Technology Association), Silicon Valley's leading Chinese professionals association, will present a two-day event, on the theme of “Innovation and Leadership” on September 30 and October 1 at Hyatt Regency Hotel, 5101 Great America Pkwy, in Santa Clara, CA, and Stanford Cantor Museum.

“The need for global leadership skills is acute in China . If Chinese technology companies are to successfully navigate multinational waters, they will need to attract and develop leaders that are versed in international business practices and standards. These qualities are also in demand by a large number of international companies that continue to expand into China.” said the organization's President, Jack Jia. “HYSTA strives to contribute to the Silicon Valley community with knowledge of innovation and leadership in China .”

On the first day (September 30), HYSTA will host a series of panels focused on leadership skills for success in a multi-cultural marketplace. Designed for Chinese professionals and those interested in cross-border entrepreneurship, the event will offer valuable insights and networking opportunities for investors, entrepreneurs, or career-minded technology professionals.

On the second day (October 1), HYSTA will host an invitation-only Executive Connect, an off-site meeting for CEOs to re-energize, network with their peers, and discuss their visions of the future. The event features two panel discussions on the opportunities and challenges in the Web 2.0 era and investing in China .

The conference will start with a ‘fireside chat' interview. John Doerr of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers will be interviewed by Michael S. Malone , a writer, journalist and former editor of Forbes. Conference speakers also include Mark Thompson , famed author of Success Built to Last ; AnnaLee Saxenian , Dean and Professor of the School of Information at UC Berkeley; Jim Breyer, Managing Partner of Accel Partners; Jenny Ming , President of Old Navy; Feng Deng , Partner of Northern Light Venture Capital; Hurst Lin , Co-Founder & COO of Sina.com and General Partner of DCM and Li Gong , Managing Director of MSN China .
