Deepak Advani
Chief Marketing Officer, LenovoDeepak Advani is senior vice president, E-Commerce, and chief marketing officer of Lenovo. Previously, he was the vice president of marketing for IBM’s Personal Computing Division. His experience includes a strong blend of technology and business. With IBM for 12 years, Mr. Advani was part of the team that built a $1 billion supercomputer business in four years; and, as the vice president of Strategy and Market Development, he crafted IBM’s early strategies around Linux. He was the general manager for the high-end Intel server business, where, under his leadership, IBM went from third in market share to first in two years. Mr. Advani has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in Computer Engineering from Wright State University, as well as an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is on the advisory board at Michigan State University. He has lectured at several universities on the topics of business strategy, brand management, and personal leadership.

Steve Toronto
Managing Partner, Morrison & Foerster LLPMr. Toronto is the managing partner of the firm’s Beijing office. Wayne Dai
CEO of VerisiliconWayne Dai is the founder, Chairman, President and CEO of VeriSilicon Holdings Co., Ltd. He was the Co-Chairman and Chief Technology Officer of Celestry Technologies, Inc., which was acquired by Cadence Design Systems in 2002. Prior to that, he was the founder, Chairman, and CEO of Ultima Interconnect Technology, Inc., one of the predecessor companies to Celestry. Dr. Dai was the founding Chairman of the IEEE Multi-Chip Module Conference and the founding Chairman of IEEE Symposium on IC/Package Design Integration. He was an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems, and an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on VLSI Systems. He has published over 100 papers in technical journals and conferences and received the Presidential Young Investigator Award from the President of United States in 1990. In 2005, Dr. Dai was elected as one the top ten venture-backed entrepreneurs in China, and elected as one of the 2005 top ten talents of science and technology in China. Wayne Dai received his B.A. degree in Computer Science and his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of California at Berkeley. Feng Deng
Founding Managing Director, Northern Light Venture CapitalFeng has more than fifteen years of technical and managerial experience in the computer, communication and data networking industries. In 1997, Feng co-founded NetScreen Technologies, which has become one of the world's leading network security equipment vendors. In NetScreen, Feng served as VP of Engineering, Chief Strategy Officer and a board director. NetScreen went public on NASDAQ in 2001. In April of 2004, NetScreen was acquired by Juniper Networks for $4 billion. Dialogue360 (formerly China Crosstalk) had its roots in radio and was conceptualized and brought to the public by its host and producer, Jay Stone Shih in 1997. Experiencing popularity early-on, the program migrated to TV marking the first time the Bay Area Chinese community had the ability to direct their questions on air to prominent newsmakers in a television format. .For more than 10 years, Shih has been engaging newsmakers, authors, politicians, entertainers, business leaders, Nobel Prize winners, scientists, professors, Presidential candidates and commentators in smart interviews in Mandarin.

Managing Director, GSR VenturesAs one of the most respected ethnic Chinese venture capitalists in the Silicon Valley, Kevin has a track record of working with Chinese entrepreneurs. He was with Mayfield Fund from 1988 to 2008, and has a broad and deep investment focus in the communications, wireless, semiconductor, software, and consumer media sectors.

Jack Q. Gao
Vice President of News Corporation & CEO of STAR ChinaIn November 2006, Dr. Jack Q. Gao was named: Vice President of News Corporation (NYSE:NWS, NWS.A; ASX: NWS, NWSLV) and Chief Representative of News Corporation's Beijing Office, charged with the responsibility and direction of News Corporation's strategy and business developments in China. In addition, Dr. Gao is currently Chief Executive Officer of STAR China with the authority over STAR TV's business operations in China.
From 2003 to 2006, Dr. Gao returned to Autodesk Inc [NASDAQ: ADSK] as Vice President, Asia-Pacific [APAC] Emerging Geography where he directed all operations in Greater China and India. In addition, Dr. Gao chaired Autodesk's Corporate Emerging Market Taskforce (China, India, Brazil and Russia). During Dr. Gao's period of leadership of APAC Emerging Geography, Autodesk China was identified in the Asian business media as one of the most successful multi-national companies in mainland China. From 2002 to June,2003, Dr. Gao was General Partner of Walden International, a leading venture capital firm headquarted in California, USA. Dr. Gao directed Walden International investments in emerging innovative information technology enterprises in China.
From 1999 and 2002, Dr. Gao was President and General Manager of Microsoft (China) Co. (NASDAQ: MSFT), Ltd., where he directed Microsoft's business development strategy, sales & marketing, government relations, overall business and financial administration and human resources operations in mainland China. During his tenure, the Microsoft sales revenue in China was increased by 300 percent. From 1995 through 1999, as Autodesk, Inc's Regional Director Greater China and General Manager for mainland China, Dr. Gao successfully established Autodesk operations in mainland China as well as in the Greater China Region.
From 1991 through 1994, Dr. Gao was the International Distributor Manager for Asia (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Mainland China and HK) in MSC/PDA, based in Los Angeles, with responsibility for successfully driving sales channel development and regional sales revenue. Awarded MSC/PDA's “Manager of the Year” in 1994. From 1989 through 1990, Dr. Gao was Senior Project Manager for CSAR Corp. in Los Angeles where he led a research effort to develop “Acoustics Feature” for CSA/NASTRAN [NASA Structural Analysis Code]. From 1984 through 1985, Dr. Gao was Assistant Professor of Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), China. Dr. Gao graduated from HIT and University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and received his B.S., M.S. and doctorate degrees in engineering.

Huarry Shum
Corporate Vice President, Search Product Development of Microsoft Corp.Harry Shum is the corporate vice president responsible for search product develop- ment at Microsoft Corp. Previously he oversaw the research activities at Microsoft Research Asia and the lab’s collaborations with universities in the Asia Pacific region, and was responsible for the Internet Services Research Center, an applied research organization dedicated to long-term and short-term technology investments in search and advertising at Microsoft.
Shum joined Microsoft Research in 1996, as a researcher based in Redmond, Wash. He moved to Beijing as one of the founding members of Microsoft Research China (later renamed Microsoft Research Asia). There he began a nine-year tenure as a research manager, subsequently moving on to become assistant managing director, managing director of Microsoft Research Asia, Distinguished Engineer and corporate vice president. Shum is an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Fellow and an Associa- tion for Computing Machinery Fellow for his contributions on computer vision and computer graphics. He has published more than 100 papers about computer vision, computer graphics, pattern recognition, statistical learning and robotics. He holds more than 50 U.S. patents. Shum received a doctorate in robotics from the School of Computer Science at Carn- egie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. In his spare time he enjoys playing basketball, rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers and spending time with his family.

Before that, H.P. worked at McKinsey & Company as a business strategy and management consultant, advising wireless and landline operators on data and wireless strategies. Dr. Chen continues to serve as the Chairman of GRIC, a global leader in deploying the world's largest virtual dial-up and broadband WiFi network in 150 countries. Prior to GRIC, Dr. Chen founded and was President and CEO of Aminet. Dr. Chen also served as the President and Chairman of the Asian-American Manufactures Association (AAMA) in 2000, and 2001 respectively. Dr. Chen received a BS in Computer Science from Xian Jiaotong University and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from State University of New York at Stonybrook in 1991. Jimmy Zhang

Before joining Synergenics, Dr. Zhang was a consultant at McKinsey & Company traveling and working in China, US and Germany. Lili Zheng
Partner, Deloitte LLPLili Zheng is an International Tax Partner of Deloitte Tax LLP as well as the Deputy Managing Partner of the Chinese Services Group of Deloitte & Touche LLP in the U.S. Lili has more than 18 years of experience in international tax and business consulting services for inbound and outbound investments. Her work experience includes development of strategies to manage worldwide effective tax rates; cross-border international mergers and acquisitions; corporate restructuring etc. Lili also has extensive knowledge in IPO positioning, establishing offshore IP holding companies, implementing cost-sharing arrangements, and advising on entry and exit strategies for cross-border investments.
As a leader in the Chinese Services Group, Lili travels frequently to Asia and is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese. She is also a frequent speaker in Atlas, the Council for International Tax Education (CITE), Financial Executives International (FEI), Tax Executives Institute (TEI) and the Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA). She was voted by International Tax Review as one of the top US tax advisors in 2002-2003. In 2004 Lili was awarded AWIB Leadership award by Asian Women In business. Lili is also the D&T liaison for business transactions with Greater China and had previously worked in our Tokyo and Beijing offices. She is a Certified Public Accountant.
