Following the globalization strategy, Baidu Inc. established a R&D center in California last year. They are recruiting top talents to join them working on exciting projects and growing the team in the core areas of Search, Ads and Infrastructure in Silicon Valley.
Speaker Tao Hong, Senior Scientist
Dr. Tao Hong joined Baidu in early 2005. During 1997-2004, he worked for Microsoft, AOL/Tegic, Sightward, and ID Analytics as Software Design Engineer, Senior Engineer, Architect and Senior Scientist. Before leaving Buffalo, he worked as a Research Scientist in CEDAR of UB from 1995 to 1997. His experience and interests include Sponsored Search/Computational Advertising, Search Engine/Information Retrieval, Natural Language Processing, Data Mining/Predictive Modeling, and Pattern Recognition.
Tao got his Ph.D. of Computer Science in SUNY at Buffalo in 1995; before coming abroad, he finished his BS & MS in Peking University.
Speaker James Peng, Principal Architect
James is currently the principal architect for Baidu's ads system. He is focused on improving the effectiveness, the efficiency, and the quality of the ads system. Prior to joining Baidu, he worked at Google for more than six years on distributed processing and data storage. James holds a Ph.D. degree from Stanford University, a M.E. degree from State University of New York at Buffalo, and a B.S. degree from Tsingha University.
