HYSTA Entrepreneurship Development Program proudly announces its Healthcare Series event, “Innovation Trend and Career Opportunities in Life Science and Digital Health”.
Traditionally, the health care system focuses on diagnosing and treating diseases. Innovation resources in health care were concentrated on developing billion dollar “One Size Fits All” pharmaceuticals. Recently, advances in life sciences and information technology have created new opportunities in health care innovations. Many innovative companies have started to develop more efficient, interdisciplinary approaches in health care and health maintenance.
In the US, consumer life style issues such as conditions related to obesity and smoking cost about $400 billion a year. Another $177 billion in heath cost is attributed to non-adherence to drug regime. Innovations in health care related social networking applications, mobile health care apps, games and other consumer digital health products can play a significant role in reducing life style related health care costs and improving health care delivery. With the advancement of genomics and bioinformatics, personalized medicine is closer to being a reality and will have a dramatic impact on the health care system and will also offer great opportunities for entrepreneurship and career development.
In this meeting, we will discuss health care innovations and career opportunities for life scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, business executives and others.
