Speaker Biography
Mr. Edward Yang is the Chairman and President of iSoftStoneNorth Americaand Europe Operations. Edward Yang has extensivemanagement capabilities, strong understanding of the client outsourcing valueproposition, and experience in cross-border management of China-based business.
Beforejoining iSoftStone, Edward Yang was formerly the Chairman of the Cross ShoreAcquisition Corporation, a public company listed under London AIM. He was theCo-founder of the company that raised US $112 Million in April 2006, to supportthe acquisition of a leading US-based provider of clinical outsourcingservices, and led its strategic expansion intoAsia.
From 1992 to 2000, Mr. Yang was Corporate Senior Vice President for Electronic DataSystems (“EDS”), responsible for its operations spanning the entireAsia-Pacific region. During his 8+ years with EDS, Mr. Yang brought outsourcingto the Asia-Pacific region and led the Company’s regional expansion from $100million to more than $1.2 billion, with more than $4 billion in contractedrevenue backlog.
Prior to joining EDS, Mr. Yang was Corporate Senior VP for Wang Laboratories,responsible for the Asia Pacific and Americas region, during which time hebrought offshore R&D and manufacturing to Asia and established theCompany’s first Mainland China Joint Venture partnership in Shanghai in 1980.
Mr.Yang currently serves on the Board of Regents of Pepperdine University; Advisoryboard of iSoftStone Information Services Inc.; Advisory board of AsianPacific American Legal Center ( APALC) and Board of Yunnan Project Hope,building schools in the Yunnan – Tibet region for the minority children. Overthe past 12 years, the project had built over 26 elementary schools in theprovince.
From 2005 to 2007, Mr. Yangserved on the board of Novelis Inc, a NYSE $8 Billion aluminum-rolled productcompany based inAtlanta,GA.Novelis Inc. -was later acquired by Berla group,Indiain 2007. Mr. Yang has also served on the AdvisoryBoard of University of San Francisco McLaren School of Business and iCarnegie,a subsidiary ofCarnegie Mellon University, International Advisory Board of Government of SouthAustralia and the American Chamber of Commerce,Hong Kong.
Born inChina, brought up inMyanmarand educated inTaiwanand US, Mr. Yang earned his Bachelor of Sciencedegree from theNational Taiwan University(1969), M.S. degree fromUniversityofMassachusetts(Lowell1976) and his Presidential Key Executive MBA degree fromPepperdine University(1988). In 1997, he received the DistinguishedAlumnus Award from Pepperdine niversity.
